Draw (or drag) your Data rectangles into a horizontal line across your Template, then draw a Repeat rectangle around them.
• How do I specify the amount of space between entries on a
list?
The closer the Repeat rectangle surrounds its contents, the less space that will appear between records. For more space between records, make the Repeat rectangle larger.
• What is the difference between a "clickable" list and
a subform?
When you specify a Form View in the list Template's Repeat rectangle dialogue, you can only chose entry-type form in the same Relation as the List.
A subform allows you to have lists — or entry forms displayed in a listing format — from other Relations.
• I did a Find All but my list doesn’t show any records at all!
Perhaps there are no records containing data that meet the criteria of the fields/calculations on the form. If you are sure that this is not the case, consider the following:
Is it the Form View construction? Pull down the View menu and make sure that Find All is selectable. If not, your form does not have a Repeat rectangle, or you have used the Border rectangle (single lined) that is located immediately to the left of the Repeat rectangle (double lined) on the Template palette. Also check the size of the Repeat rectangle. If the Repeat rectangle takes up the entire page, only one entry will show per page size. Scroll down to see if another entry appears.
Do you have any “blank” records? Use the scroll bar to scroll the window. The information may be appearing further down the list. This can happen if some of the fields in a list are undefined. A solution for this could be to make an Abacus Query calculation using the Defined tile. Select the name for this Abacus in the View Selection, where it should appear in the Query column. This will restrict the listing to only those records where this field is defined (has an entry).
Page Setup? A list will continue until it fills a “page.” The size of the page is determined by the setting chosen with Page Setup. If the page size has been set to a small size, the list will appear to be small also. To see more of the list, scroll the window. The list will resume on the next page.
Query? If a Query has been selected for a listing form, it may be screening out too many records. Pick Show Selection from the View menu. Then, de-select the Query name and try again (pick Show Form from the View menu). If the records now appear, you know that your list works, but that none of the data met the criteria specified by the Query.
Is the Index invalid? To check this, rebuild the Index selected on the form.
